How to do the World's best oil finish

I like to use a shop vac with a genuine horse hair brush to remove the sanding dust. It leaves NO dust unlike tack cloth if not used properly. Gets in all the tiny spots much better as well.

How to do the World's best oil finish

I would be somewhat concerned that the oil based red oak stain would seal the surface to a degree. You may not get the penetration that the oil finish is inherently known for. I have never attempted this and I'm sure somebody will pipe up that has. Interesting question 7th.

NEED HELP - Stuck Threads on Gas Cylinder Nut of Baikal MP153 / Remington 453 Spartan

Try a 60/40 mix of Dexron transmission fluid and acetone. Let it soak for a day and there's a good chance it will break free.

    Ruger 77 or Remington 700

I am not impressed with the quality of Remington firearms (also includes H & R, Marlin and Bushmaster) since Cerberus/Freedom Arms took over. 2007 I believe. They need to get their feces in a group. I definitely would look at a Ruger.

How to do the World's best oil finish

I picked my Minwax Antique Oil Finish up at my local Farm And Fleet in Chippewa Falls. I like the product, however, I did take some 0000 steel wool to the final finish. After three coats and steel wool lightly between coats, it was a bit shiny for my liking. Turned out a beautiful satin when I...

    best 9mm? for the price?

I don't understand why your local gun store clerk/former LEO says to stay away from Beretta. Mine is flawless after maybe 1000 rounds, does fit me well and was very affordable. I do agree that what works for me might not work for you. Kinda like dentures! I figure any gun manufacturer that...

WI Concealed Carry Class Sept 10, 2011 $50.00 to HighRoad members

Remember that those who have completed a Wisconsin Hunters Education class will qualify after approval by the Wisconsin DOJ. All that will be required is a photocopy of the card you received in the mail after course completion. For those who have been "grandfatherd" in, you will be required to...

    Wisconsin: Right-to-Carry bill

We're good to go folks! Law becomes effective Nov. 1, 2011. I spoke to the WI Dep't. of Justice office yesterday and the lady recommended waiting a couple of weeks for them to "get their ducks in a row" for application info and to keep watching their websight: http://www.doj.state.wi.us/ It...

Perhaps 3rd times the charm for WI Concealed Carry

We do have our work cut out for us with the vote coming likely, the first part of June. I did have to share remarks from a fellow forum member elsewhere........ Senate Bill 93 (sb93) is constitutional carry with optional permit system. Should be voted on in June - but there are people...

Magnum Small Pistol Vs. Small Pistol Primers in 9mm Luger?

Accurate Arms suggests starting at 5.7 grs. and maxing at 6.7 grs. with this bullet/powder combo. There is no "given" variable between these two primers and only one grain between minimum and maximum. I think using the magnum primers vs. the small pistol primers, I'll start at about 5.2 grs...

Magnum Small Pistol Vs. Small Pistol Primers in 9mm Luger?

I have some magnum small pistol primers (which I would like to "burn up") and the reloading data I have found recommends small pistol primers for 9mm Luger. I will be using Accurate Arms AA-7 powder 115 gr. Rainier round nose bullets. Here's my question: If using magnum small pistol primers...

How to do the World's best oil finish

Blain's Farm and Fleet also carries this product. Now that I have seen the final results, I will pick up a can tomorrow. I have a Marlin 336 that is crying for a re-do.
