    1907 Savage magazine question

Yes, the mag can be disassembled. Bottom plate will slide out so mag spring can be removed. Mine would never feed the last round until I removed the mag spring and inserted the correct direction (tapered spring). Shoots fine now.

Looking for mags - Savage model 1907 "pocket pistol"

I have checked out Numrich but was not interested in a 7rd mag as the oem mag is 10rd, so I'm guessing the Numrich offering is not double-stack. One piece of info I forgot to include in my post is that this is a .32 cal.

Looking for mags - Savage model 1907 "pocket pistol"

I've tried some of the after-market stuff from sources such as triple-k, but it's all junk. I compare the physical characteristics of these with the one oem mag I have and it's obvious why they don't function. Just wondering if anyone might know of this pistol and possibly a source of mags that...

Savage model 1907 - any collectors - what value?

Have a late model 1907 (mfg 1919 according to SN) that is in good shape. No cosmetic issues, functions fine (I've only put 3 mags thru it, but no problems). I've got one OEM mag, have tried aftermarket stuff, but that is junk as far as my experience has been. Anyway, I've got pics (wish I had a...

What is the value of older 1911's

Well, tried posting smaller pics (< 300Kb) with no luck. Any suggestions? I am going thru a firewalled router, would that potentialy be a problem?? Also, when the jpg's were too big, I got an error message that explicitly said that, now that they're smaller just get a generic failure to upload...

What is the value of older 1911's

welldoya You're right, I'm just looking for info - not looking to sell the pistol. Now I'm just trying to get the pics up. I've reduced the size to under whats considered max (977.1 Kb) but still no go. These pics are 700 - 800 Kbs to show detail.

What is the value of older 1911's

I will post some pics as soon as I get some batteries for the camera. The reason I know this was carried in WW1 is that it was my grandfathers when he was a LT in the Army at that time. Tried posting pics as attachments, but continually get errors with no explanation of what the problem is...

What is the value of older 1911's

Have an Army issue mfg in 1915 (according to SN) that is clean, fully functional and no pitting or other cosmetic issues other than looks like holster wear. Just curious if there are collectors and what something like this is valued at. I know this pistol was carried in WW1.

Older 1911's - special care - things to look out for?

Thanks for the info/links. This pistol has surprised me with its tightness considering the "loosey-goosey" .45's I fired while in the Army.

Older 1911's - special care - things to look out for?

Have an old 1911 (Army issue mfg. in 1915 as far as I can tell by SN). This pistol is clean and functions perfectly, but am wondering if there are any things I should be aware of concerning ammo, cleaning, etc. for a pistol of this vintage. Have only put hardball through it so far since I...

    Savage Model 1907 "pocket pistol"

Thanks to all for the response / info. The mag here is a double-stack and am wondering if after-market stuff is 7-rd because they haven't figured it out yet.

    Savage Model 1907 "pocket pistol"

Have one of these in mint condition. Looking for a source of mags. This pistol (based on serial number lookup on the internet) is a late model produced in 1919 and has the spur hammer and fine serrations on the slide. I've tried some mags from triple-k but even though they fit, one won't feed...
