    100 year old Smith Thanks for the info, when I shoot that old pistol I use downloaded 158 gr LSWC. I do worry about the severe wear under the top strap because it appears to cut most of the way through the strap. Any thoughts--??

    buy a revolver, they rarely jam and if you hit a dead cartridge, simply pull the trigger again.

    Friend had an idea - Will this work?

    firing powderless cartridges Excellent way to jam up your gun. The primer will most certainly have enough force to push the bullet well out into your barrel. Then your looking for a way to remove the bullet without damaging the barrel!!!! Get someone with a reloader to make you some dummy...
