Tendency for gun store clerks to wrap up the display model

Our local gunrange puts all their stock on display. They have no "back room". They don't allow customers to abuse their stock and what you see is what they've got...

Tendency for gun store clerks to wrap up the display model

But that's the gun you said you liked!

    How times have changed...

Yep, anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Security Warning: phones and cameras with geotagging using GPS

Great little program, but make sure you don't install it from any source but the ExifPurge website, otherwise there is a chance that the site has added tracking viruses to the file. CNET is notorious for doing just that. http://www.exifpurge.com/

    kid has outgrown his 22lr

My dad's sporterized 03-A3 (30-06) was too much for me when I was 10. By 14 it was no problem, I'd grown into it and could handle the sore shoulder. It was "so cool" that I could then shoot accurately on the 100 yard range, even farther out in the desert.

‘More paint and less hate’: Online petition calls for end to ‘black targets’ at shooting ranges

That reference to South Park says it all. These "people" live fantasy lives and can be easily manipulated to say and do just about anything. That's in contrast to 1930s Germany where people were dirt poor and were easily manipulated to say and do what the party told them.

    Barrel or Trigger

I second that. Learn to use your tools, better hardware won't help bad technique. I'd been golfing for a few years with a cheap set of blades ($35) I got from the local pro shop, when I went back for custom set of clubs. The pro watched my swing and REFUSED to sell me a custom set, saying it...

Has anyone purchased gun parts from China?

There are plenty of USA resellers of Chinese gun accessories, you don't need to order direct from China. I have a Chinese bipod, AR15 forend and rail flashlight holder, that were dirt cheap from USA sellers and of good quality. I have ordered electronics parts direct from China and yes they can...

OK, this has gone to far. AR cleaning kit from BoreTech

Wow! It even comes with a plastic box with the awesome bonus feature that it will break the second time it's used! All I can say is the troups in Vietnam must have been doing it all wrong with diesel fuel, toothbrushes and dirty rags...

California - Ownership vs Future Purchase?

California is moving towards confiscation. You may lose that gun collection if you move here. I'm leaving, as are some of my friends and relatives.

Why to people butcher and rape milsurps?

My dad bought an 03-A3 for $10 in the late 50s then added a Montecarlo stock and Redfield front sight blade. He hunted with it and loved that rifle. I'll leave it just as it is, but I'm tempted to add a scope but it is heavy and modern 308 Win rifles are fairly cheap.

    my first and last DPMS

Our local school district has a policy that if there is a complaint (ANY complaint) against a substitute teacher they fire them without notice or due process. The sub never gets a chance... Same idea.

Ban on lead on Federal land

Lead is harmful when eaten or breathed. It's especially harmful to birds when they're blown out of the air by a 12 gauge.

    Cut shells are stupid.

One advantage of a shotgun for self-defense is the less-lethal round (sand bag, etc...). Some local LEOs load a combination of less-lethal rounds followed by 00 and 0. I only have a three round auto, so not sure whether I should even consider less-lethal rounds, but don't like the idea of...

"He came at me out of nowhere!"

A know of a young corrections officer that stole a pizza off a driver and was convicted of strong arm robbery, along with his other fraternity friends.
