    .223 & varget

I use varget with my lake city brass all the time and have great luck with it, although I am using 60 grain v-maxes. Most loads are compressed, but I havent had any overflow, even up to about 26.5 grains. Good luck.

    Bersa Thunder 9mm reliability?

I got a Bersa Thunder 9 Ultra Compact for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Ive got about 500 rounds through it with absolutely no problems. WWB is slightly more accurate than Blazer Brass, but both are acceptable. Blazer had wicked muzzle flash though, and is dirtier. Shooting offhand I can...

.223: 60grn Partion or Barnes Triple Shock

Sierra also makes a 65gr Game King for deer. My stevens shoots them well over varget.

Marlin Model 60 for First Rifle

My first gun was a model 60, and I think it is a great choice. Mine has reliably fed everything, except for the Remington Golden bullets. I had several jams and duds in the bulk pack I bought. I ended up giving away most of it. I usually just shoot CCI in it now. Over at rimfirecentral.com there...

    next gun for son?

I think a 223 bolt gun would be good as well. A stevens 200 can be had for under $300 and is a very accurate gun out of the box. If you really want him to stay with a single shot, there are kits that turn it into one. Then, when you are comfortable with him using a magazine, you dont have go...

    Stevens 200

Ive got a Stevens 200 in .223 and really like it. It has the stock trigger that has been worked and is about 3.5 lbs. Ive been working on some loads with the 60gr v-max and 65gr sierra gameking, and my best groups so far have been just under 1 inch at 100 yards. Ive had no problems with feeding...

cheapest caliber to easly reach to 200 yards

I also recommend the stevens 200 in 223. I have one and love it. Mine has easily shot MOA with hand loads off sand bags. I think that with further load development, and possibly a better rest, I can tighten the groups even further. Mine has a 1:9 twist, which will work with some of the heavier...

    target rifle

I also suggest the stevens 200. I have one in .223 and love it. Many of these are sub moa with hand loads right out of the box.

    Varmint Rifle Advice

Here's another vote for the Stevens 200. I have one in .223 and it is a tack driver. I would go with the .223 over the 22-250, because the .223 has a 1:9 twist vs. the 1:12 twist of the 22-250. These guns usually get good results with the 60gr hornday v-max, and the 65gr sierra game king. Both...

    Handheld GPS Units for Hunting/Fishing

I just got an etrex legend cx and love it. I even got hooked on geocaching with it. I bought the mapsource us topo maps for it, and can fit the entire state of oklahoma, as well as a strip of the surrounding states, on the 64mb micro sd card that came with it. I got a 512mb card for $25 and can...
