    Gun Grammar

    Just to clarify a point made earlier the " Guns " on Navy Ships are NAVAL RIFLES, cannons are smooth bore, 3",5",6",8" and 16" were rifled tubes/barrels. Cal. is Bore x Length of tube/barrel ie. 5" 50 cal.= 5" bore 250" long "barrel". Larger Rifles had replacable rifled liners ( ie. 16" )

    Question for any Vets on target shooting

    U S Navy, VN., every 30 days I had to fire 100 rounds MINIMUM from, M60, M 14, 45, and shotgun. I was on the ships landing force and security force. My have been just my command's policy, but we had the highest rated LF/SF in the fleet.

    Bought a new savage mk2 but NICS is down >.<

    Nice buy, got one for my son a while back, Mk.II G . Nice wood, GREAT accuracy from the start. Got a 4X scope on it now, one hole groups are common,( for my son 21yoa, I'm almost 60 with Trifocals.)
