Thanks too everyone for your suggestions. Everything went off without any problems and I now have a sling that I installed without damaging the firearm. Thanks again!

PS: I used a kit from Walmart that was similar to that suggested by rcmodel in this thread.
Thank you both. I was very concerned about the wood having the ability to support the weight of the rifle, as I have had it apart and it did not look to thick to me on the barrel end.

Just bought a model 60 about 3 months ago and I'm very happy with it performance. I notice it did not come with any setup for taking a sling. Is it possible to install the sling swivel kit without damaging the would? And if so, what wood be the best placement for the same.
