Nice choice it's a smart looking rifle.
Have a Pedersoli sporter which we have had some good results with, I bought it for myself originally about 15 years ago now my wife is shooting with it. It's in 45-2.4" (45-90) and had been using the Lyman 525gr 457125 bullet cast at 20:1 lead-tin mix...
Lyman make a nice looking bullet for the .44 S&W Russian #429383. As far as I am aware, you really need the bullet sizing (or dropping from the mould)to the size of the chamber mouths rather than the barrel groove dia. so .429 or .430 will be perfect.
I shoot a .45 Colt Uberti Schofield but...
I'd also say stay away from factory .45ACP in the old gal as it's way too powerful for them...see attached image...no, it's not mine.
I use Hornady .455 brass and the RCBS .455 265gr HB mould, works a treat.
Had a Euroarms...now got a Feinwerkbau.
Is the new one worth the extra cash.....er no, still can shoot as badly with it as I did the Euroarms pistol.:eek:
I though black powder itself isn't actually corrosive. Sure the residue will attract water but wasn't it the primers of the day that caused all the trouble?
