I bought 200. I went ahead and loaded 100 (minus some test rounds). I'll shoot them single shot. I'll send the other box back and get matchkings.
I left a review on Midway- and read the same review other people left too.
Single load is also not compatible with a brass catcher, which I use to keep from losing my brass in the hayfield. Lesson learned I guess. I like a 69gr Matchking over 24.6gr of Varget. Just thought I'd experiment- but like I said, I don't have a lot of money. Hornady and Midway should make this...
Realistically, up to 350 yards on balloons that I hang on brush. I've rung my 10" steel at 500. These were gonna be reach-out loads, so I might load them for single feed, but $50 worth of bullets is an investment for me. (I also don't have a case length gauge to do it right). I'd rather have...
I'm pretty sure I figured out the answer to this myself, but has anyone gotten a 75gr Hornady ELD Match to magazine length? They're so long there's a gap between the case mouth and the ogive... and still 10 thousandths over what will fit in the mag, let alone any wiggle room for function. My...
Here's what I found out today. I measured the groups from yesterday, 3" was an exaggeration. They're 2 1/4.
I put a VX1 on and shot right around an inch suppressed. With bare threads it shot 0.725. My thoughts- the Mark AR scope has a very heavy reticle, it su tends almost an inch so I use the...
The fired cases measure .006 over spec measured on a Wilson gauge. I bump them back .004, so yes technically it's out of spec- but my understanding of headspace is that this is perfectly safe.
I did reuse the bolt, because it's been extremely reliable. I'm wondering if wear on the lugs is...
All the decapping rods are the same length. Set up your shorter caliber dies and cut off the excess. It keeps you from slashing your forearm all the time.
Good trigger. Midway has a "customizable" lower kit. Comes without a trigger. The idea is you're gonna get a good one anyway, why spend money on the cheap one?
I don't know what the barrel but torque is. It's aluminum ATI proprietary. I tightened it pretty tight twice, then "tight enough" until the gas tube port timed.
I built an SPR out of my DPMS and can't get it to shoot anywhere near how it should. I wonder if anyone has some insight? Installed an 18" barrel from Ranier Arms made on a Rock Creek blank. Wylde chamber, 8 twist, cut rifled, hand lapped. Rifle length gas with clamp-on block. Decent free float...
I fire formed some brass into my AR500 target (2 mag dumps) at about 50 yards. I know the instructions say minimum 100 yards, but who reads those? My concern isn't the $15 target, it's that I bored 2 holes through a 1/4" plate WITH .223 SOFT POINTS! Am I supposed to trust a vest made of thinner...
