    second amendment history

+1 Read up on Heller, that's all the info you need, the history you need is included in it. For a quick reply, just point out that there was hardly any need for the US to add an amendment to guarantee it's own right to defend itself against Britain. With the purpose he claims it had, the...

    School shooting in Finland

Igor, you're right, my mistake. The Finnish gunlaw, 5kap 45$ only says the person has to be over 18 and give reliable statement of his hobby.

    Anyone from Norway? Need help!

I'm not in Norway, but I believe the laws are similar there. If so, all kinds of "weapons" are banned. This includes what's referred to as "street weapons", which is basically anything with a purpose to be used as a weapon. - Pepper spray is most likely illegal, there is a "self defense...

    Shoot Proficiency for Gun Carry

I agree with the others, always try to get better. If not for anything else, then because if you ever get in a situation where you might need it for real, you will very likely not shoot as well as you do on a target. So the better your starting point is, the better. A real absolute minimum is...

    Introducing my son to handguns.

My suggestion is to get an airgun to practise with. When I was growing up, that was a pretty common way to introduce kids to guns, in an easy "nonthreatening" way. Even a 3 year old kid can handle an airgun, if an adult is there beside him/her to help him hold it up, so all they do is point...

    School shooting in Finland

One thing to remember is that this guy was 22 years old, and no criminal record. He joined a gun club, practised and trained there, waited and got his license for a .22, and bought the gun legally, to have for plinking and competing. The people that might argue that the Finnish gunlaws are...

    School shooting in Finland

There are videos on YouTube of a 22year old in the same town (Kauhajoki) shooting a Walther P22 target at a range. The commenters there have identified him as the shooter. You find it by searching 'Kauhajoki gun' on YouTube As for the Finnish gun laws, I googled them, and they seem to be...

    Greatest Shot ever taken?

As for an amazing sniper shot, I'd like to mention this video Maybe not the best ever in history, but it's an amazing shot, and it's on video. :)

    Greatest Shot ever taken?

Actually, it's totally possible to fire 3 shots from a Carcano even in less than 6 seconds. Just watch the movie "JFK", they attempt to prove it isn't possible, but if you time the time they do it in, they do it in 5.6seconds :) And that was an actor doing it, not an experienced shooter. The...

    International laws.

Well, point 1 I think is mostly academic. the Police can recall any gun license at any time, even for the hunting rifle you've owned for years. 2 and 3 was actually news to me, I know there was talk about it after there was an incident with some Home Guard guy who shot someone with his, but I...

    International laws.

No, they held those at any shooting range long enough. :) I remember when I was a kid shooting Mausers, some of the Home Guard guys showed up at the range to practise for a competition with there m/45 SMGs. Home Guard used to carry m/45 too, before it was discontinued.

    International laws.

There is actually an easier way. If you join the Home Guard, I believe standard issue is the AK4 assault rifle, and you get to store it at home and practise with it reguarly. The Home Guard is required to have their guns readily available, so as to be able to be a rapid response unit. The...
