    Paying for more expensive shells

From what I understand, target loads (like AA) have higher antimony shot and better wads than 'game', 'field', and 'dove & quail' loads. A patterning board will show the differences in quality rather quickly.

My cousin has a Yildiz 20ga from Academy and loves it. The dove hate it....

    What's the future of .40 S&W?

Wasn't a lot of .40 hollow point ammo produced for gov't contracts recently? What happens to it now? Do we the underlings get to practice with hst's instead of ball when it's sold as surplus?

    20gauge verus 28 gauge ammo

Check out the new Ithaca model 37 in 28 ga. They handle like a wand, have good triggers, and pattern beautifully. American made, too.

    .38 Special

Federal .38 Special 147gr +p+, the politically correct magnum. Early Smith 640's were tested for them, so why not use them?

    20gauge verus 28 gauge ammo

Once you use a 28 in Argentina, you will discover 2 things: It will kill doves just as far out as a 20. The extra cost of the shells is a bargain on your shoulder after 2000 rounds a day. When you come home to shoot doves and buy 2 boxes for a 15 bird limit, $10 bucks extra? "WHAT DIFFERENCE...

How Colt 45s where issued in ww2

I think you're right rc, thanks for the pics. I do recall dad saying that the .38 was a better alternative to life in a capture pit, or being drawn and quartered, so that your pieces could be hung from the palms for the other pilots to see on their strafing runs. The Japs did not like our...

How Colt 45s where issued in ww2

My father was a Navy fighter pilot in the Pacific theater, and was issued a S&W .38 revolver in a shoulder rig. Maybe the .45's were to heavy for carrier aircraft :neener: I guess if the six .50's didn't get the job done, you were in a heap of trouble.

    midway usa new shipping rates...

Might as well take advantage of cheaper USPS rates while we can; we're paying for it whether we use it or not...... I like to order amazon prime on Friday to get Sunday delivery by USPS. The mailman needs the exercise. ;<)

    Chile: Gun Owners Hell

What is the best time of the year for combination hunts (when all such seasons are open)? In 2005, I did a combination hunt in Argentina for Duck in the morning, Perdiz in the midday, and Dove in the afternoon. I think it was in July. Cold in the morning, but warmed up during the day. Lots of...
