i have one. It is kind of cool but it has a terribly sloppy chamber which causes the brass on commercial 308 to swell up considerably with anything approaching a max load. realy a bummer as otherwise i love this rifle.
Just FYI you cant hunt with a mini 14 in pa. Also some of the game wardens will surely try to say you are poaching if you are hiking with one. You may have to prove otherwise.
PA is a police state just not as bad as some others.
The ak and sks are not as accurate as an ar variant. However they are much more tolerant of dirt,lack of cleaning and weather conditions and you can have 2 for the same price as 1 ar. It is a matter of preference really. If you are like me you want one of everything.:)
I have one. Im pretty picky as well.
I dont like the feel of the bolt or the fact that the trigger guard is molded into the stock. The scope is about a 20 dollar model.
Now I believe the original question was accuracy. Mine will touch a full mag at 100 yards. Excellent trigger pull. Imagine...
The deerfield looks like a great weapon. I have been considering it for a while. But the lack of any higher capacity mags has mad me reluctant. even a 10 rounder would be perfect.
If you are set on a semi buy 2 sks's . Replace the stocks and sights with something more ergonomical. You will still be under 500 bucks for the pair.
Next vote would be mini 14 or mini 30.
However do not discount a marlin lever gun. meets all the criteria quite well just isnt a semi.
If someone would figure out a way to make a mini 14 take ar 15 mags its reliability would be on par with that of the sks. I have both and it is the mags that leave something to be desired for the mini. A 16 inch medium weight barrell would also be a plus.
I have somewhere around 2000 rounds through my charles daly 1911. The ejector broke tonight. I dont want to deal with daly customer service for warranty as ive changed some sprinds,extractor,firing pin stop and polished the feed ramp. So I figure Ill just swap in a new ejector.
