Reloading the 47-70 I have worked up a load for my Pedersoli Sharps that shoots great. I'm using a 405 grain bullet .459 from Buffalo Arms with 41 grains of Varget.

I agree with Gino. If I could only have 3 rifles with which to do all my hunting, I'd go with the .243, 270, 300 win mag. They all overlap somewhat, but each has a specific purpose depending on the size of the game hunted. .243 with 58 gr. bullets for varmints and deer. 270 for pigs, deer, and...

I enjoy cowboy action shooting, so I bought a SKB double barrel 12 ga. with 22" barrels, all slicked up by Johhny Meadows at Camp Verde Gun and Repair. Also bought a Savage stainless bull barrel varminter in 22-250 with Burris Veracity 5-25x50 scope. Combination is a tack driver.
