I almost always carry a BUG, and for the same reason I carry my primary. Two guns isn't any more difficult or any more of an inconvenience (for me) than one, and better to have it and not ever need it than to not have it and need it.

Another vote for Sporting Arms here. Granted they're local for me, but they're the only place I buy new guns now. Great selection, great prices, and the best customer service of any dealer I've ever used.
I've never had it happen with a semi-auto, but I've gotten keyholes from shooting standard pressure .38s out of my 340PD. From what I've read, it's not too uncommon in the AirLite 1-7/8" S&Ws.
I like it as well. This is the round that I carry in mine.
I've tried it, and I like it. It's definitely hotter than the .38 +P (and makes me less accurate on follow-up shots with it, which is why I'm not carrying it and won't until I get enough practice to feel just as comfortable with it)...
