I also plan on removing the front sight so I'll have a little room to play with on there, and with that comes another question, how do you remove the front sight?

All I have at my disposal at the moment is a tape measure but on that it measures about 3/8in I'll try and get a hold of a mic latertoday or tomorrow to give you a better measurement

Ya someone told me that too but I've decided I wanna make something real custom lookin maybe like a Barrett .50 cal style on er something, wanna make mine stand out a little bit and the local gunsmith wants too much to thread it and it makes me a little nervous to it myself

So I've got a mosin m38 I'm lookin to make a muzzle break for it and I keep hearing and seeing talk about silver soddering one on there, I'm a do it myself kinda guy but I'm not really sure how to go about doing it, so does anybody know how it should be done or have any ideas or info on the subject?

As far as I know you can't thread your barrel in CA unless I'm misinformed they don't want you using flash hiders or silencers, the brakes for the 44s don't fit cause the front sights are slightly differnet I tried one and they are too loose and sag Down off the front of the barrel it's got to...
