I have one Aero precision lower/SOTA upper that is a really good shooter. This was my first AR purchase (previous experience had just been shooting my brothers) and I am pleased with my rifle.
This peaked my interest in "building" my own AR15. All the web research I did it seemed the...
Probably a model 1200. Good rifles. I have one in .243 Win & 7mm Mag. A lot of good info on Parker Hales here. http://thehunterslife.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=15
A lot of good info guys. I think I will get a stripped lower and a parts kit just to have and wait til I get my "gun room" finished in the garage before I buy the other components. I will just keep watching what you all are building until I see exactly what I like and have the money saved up...
thanks guys, I guess I have a lot to think about.
If you go with a barreled upper that does not have the BCG or CH what additional parts do I need to complete the upper?
As far as the Blemished Lowers.....I just plan on leaving it black like I get it, how bad are the blemishes on...
I have never been an AR guy but I needed to branch out from bolt guns to try something new. My brother has AR's so I have shot them on occasion but never felt the urge to own one.....until now. We (my brother) has 2 ar's: an older Bushmaster and a M&P Sport. We are both pretty handy so we...

Here is a pic of my brother with his first deer. After being gone for 13 years in the military he finally moved back home and we now have the opportunity to hunt together again. A nice muley doe taken at 135 yds with his CVA Optima Muzzleloader.
Win Model 70 in .270 with 130 gr softpoints, nice 4 point muley. that was 10 years ago.
My brother just got his first deer this morning, a nice muley doe, 135 yds with his CVA Optima.
I like the Franchi because the safety is on the back of the trigger guard like my Montefeltro and 870's. For me they just fit better than a Beretta. I did not like the feel of the Stoeger. I have used my 20 ga. Affinity for dove and pheasant. Not problems at all with any load I have put...
Take a look at the Franchi Affinity. I really like my 20 ga for dove hunting. Brother has a 12 ga. we really like them. should be able to find one between $650-$750

Thanks ECV
so my 30-30 94AE has a ramped front sight like in post #10 above. Then is this the correct xs ghost ring sight to order?

XS Ghost Rings
I also have a 94AE 30-30 that I would like to change sights on. I guess I like the looks of the XS ghost rings. However, I am not sure which XS sight to choose. What are the differences between these? Ramp or no ramp? Thanks.https://www.xssights.com/Products.aspx?CAT=8508...
