I would dearly love to have a Smith & Wesson 4 or five inch 686, (not the +). I can afford any of them but don't have any need for it.

For an all-around do everything shoot anything shotgun I think it might be the Mossberg 835 pump.
It's not perfect for everything but it'll shoot any 12 gauge ammo you can put in it from
1-3/4" clear up to 3-1/2" and you can customize it to whatever you want including a rifled slug barrel.
I played around with my 6-in Dan Wesson 357 Magnum tightening and loosening the barrel nut and as long as it was fairly snug it didn't seem to matter how tight you made it, it was very accurate probably the most accurate 357 I have ever had.

The thing that impressed me of the 9422 was the controlled feed of the cartridge.
Pointed up, down, sideways or even upside down it still reliably fed the cartridge.
One of the few times I have screwed up by selling any of my firearms is when I sold a Winchester model 9422 and a matching Winchester model 94 in 30-30 caliber. Both functioned perfectly and I bought them for $100.00 each.
