    Looking for a S&W 357 Magnum

I think I've read that some of the newer 686's are coming with canted barrels, and wind up going back to S&W for repair. Personally, I'd stick with an older model 66, which everyone loves.

    Stainless pinned barrel S&W revolvers

The early 66's came with stainless rear sights which some people have trouble seeing compared to the easier to see darker rear sight used in future models.

    S&W needs refinishing

Just list the model number, and we can tell you if it is stainless or nickel.

Anyone had any experience with S&W Customer Service?

I have had only positive experiences with S&W CS. And yes, they send the repaired gun directly to your house, but an adult over 21 must be there to sign for it.

    S&W 27-2 5" blue found, worth it?

Not a great deal imo. You can find a 3.5" or 4" for around that $$$. Perhaps not quite as pristine, but nice.

Model 19 with 2 1/2 inch barrel questions

There is no way to determine price with any accuracy without knowing the dash #. A -1 is going to cost more than a later gun. After -4, S&W eliminated the p/r features, so that's something to consider.

    New to me Smith 27

You paid the "Back to the Future" price on that one.
  12. F

    Which would you buy?

That is a bargain price for a like new 6". That said, the 4" are the more popular size. It isn't necessarily p & r, as there was a transitional period for the -1, when some guns were one or the other, or both. Good luck, as you can't go wrong with either one.

    Revolvers w/out internal lock...

I'm also not a big fan of the I/L. It's not the lock itself, but that hole in the side of the gun that I dislike. Even if the lock is disabled, the hole remains. At this time, I only have one I/L revolver. I am trying not to buy another. To O/P - I think some of the J frame S&W Centennial...
