Granted my gun is mainly for range time, but I keep one loaded with JHP and 2 empty. If I need more than one loaded 15 rounder, I should have brought a knife and saved $15. The only reason i have 3 is because the new gen 4 glockss come with three. If I bought a gen 3, I would only have 2.

They make many many different "stock" grips, or you can send them a custom design and they can get it in a grip for you. I haven't used their 1911 grips, but have used their grips on various paintball markers and the fit and finish is always fantastic.
No problems with my gen 4 19 yet. Put through a box of most of the cheap stuff (steel cased wolf, umc, american eagle) and it fed and extracted everything perfect.
I have shot a glock 17, 19-23, 26-27 and 34. The 19 and 23 were my favorite, the 26-27 were not. I really disliked the 26 and 27. They might be a bit better with a grip extension though. The next purchases (in order) will be a mossberg 500 and some sort of ar15.
I do not perceive a need for more than 3 mags, 2 are for range 1 loaded with the good stuff (hornady 115 criticals).
Unfortunately, I cannot carry every day, I am in and out of town halls all day every day. I do have an el cheapo holster for range and weekend duty though.
To everyone else...
Well, took me a long time to finally figure out what I would get as my first handgun. After shooting a bunch of different pistols, I finally decided on a Glock 19. Got one yesterday and finally got a chance to try it out today. 50 rounds of Wolf 115gr, 50 rounds of Federal American Eagle...
