Footage of 3-year-old with handgun on Today show

"Or since you are filming my children I might accuse you of being a pervert, scouting my place for a possible victim. Or my wife might accuse you of being a stalker. Or I might accuse you harrassing me. I'm quite sure I could get an attorney who could convince a jury of one or all of those...

    Rapid drop of opponent

I think one possible difference is the size of the hole...a pilum or a sword would make a substantially larger wound than a handgun round. I've read that stab wound to the lungs/extremities often don't drop people, but that gut wounds seem to cause people to go into shock and drop PDQ...

    Mateba Range Report (pic heavy)

I didn't post this, but I owned one...so I'll hop in. 1.) The pull of the trigger is in single action everytime. How does the trigger pull feel compared to a traditional single action? Compared to a double action? it is single action after a)the first round is fired (sa/da) or the hammer...

    Lever-action .357 carbine: a good defensive arm?

"+~204 FPE at the muzzle, would the step up to a .44 really make a difference" Heavier, (250grn vs 125grn) wider bullet with a better ballistic co-e.

Footage of 3-year-old with handgun on Today show

"The fact is that no, you do not get to just tape your neighbors anytime you want and expect no repercussions." <p> Well..they might egg your car...they might come over and beat you like a red-headed step-child.. they might even get their panties in a twist on an internet board over the...

    .45 defensive loads

Okay...flame suit- ON, Defensive Shields-UP... I carry hardball. I've had "good" experiences with Hydrashock, Gold Dot, etc.- but my 1911s never choke with plain old FMJ. Plus, I find I shoot faster and more accurately with non-+P rounds. Let the flames begin.

Bad day, wierd happenings......just a little freaked out

"if you are going to reprimand me on why I "needed" to get out an AR15 for just a little noise, save your breath and don't post please. Its the gun I feel the most comfortable and well trained with." I'd only 'reprimand' you if there had been a 30.'06 BAR available, and you chose the .223...

My son turned my carry gun on himself

I am sorrier than I can ever express. I am sorry for your son, and sorry for you and your wife. Prayers, thoughts, condolences sent your way.

    Apartment Defense Weapon

All this choppy-choppy/slashing stuff (katana, kukri, machete) is fine...but what a bout a three-four foot section of oak dowel with a 12" butcher knife affixed to one end? use it like a bayonet- don't need a lot of room or momentum- just keep jabbing at (into) the goblin's guts. Center...

    Truck Gun

"Castin' a vote for a lever rifle" gotta second the vote. I keep a .45 Colt levergun under the rear seat of my pickem' up. Inexpensive, non-threatening...but those heavy Cor-Bon loads get up an go out of an 18" tube. Not much good beyond 100 yards (least for me) but all kinds of...

Worst accident you've had with a firearm.

while removing a holster IWB left front-side containing a baby glock in 9, gun shifted, exposing trigger. I didn't notice/pay attention, and hit the trigger. Gunshot wound to the lower right groin, traveling down, back, and out the right leg. No bone, no artery, very lucky. Very scary...

So who keeps a lever rifle for their car gun?

Winchester in .45 Colt Corbon 300gr JSP, figure about 1600 fps.

    The Shield

"... the low ready was a square range type of thing because a negligent discharge would go safely into the ground rather than with a high ready which would result in a bullet going over the backstop. But in an apartment building, there is no safe direction for a negligent discharge. ..with the...

    Safest way to carry ?

fjolnirsson, leatherneck- the worst part was watching/hearing the woman I love screaming "Oh God don't die I love you" while I was trying to get pressure on the wound and figure out how badly I was hurt. Scary, scary stuff. But no lasting injury, and hopefully a story that others can...

    Safest way to carry ?

"..Is not having a round chambered on an auto safer then having it be empty on the next cylinder on a revolver. Is IWb less safe then Shoulder holster...?" As others have noted...get training. This is not a slam, I'm just suggesting that the answer(s) to your question(s) are better adressed...
