Hey guys, I also just got a new CA Bulldog .44, on Saturday afternoon. I'm also pretty impressed so far, even without firing it yet. I got the #14420 black model. I was surprised that it is so light and really pretty small. It's not much bigger than my Taurus model 85 .38sp (but the 85 weighs...

I just ordered a Bulldog and should get it next week. What defense handloads do you use or recommend?
I load .44 sp for a Ruger BH right now using 240gr JHPs.
Check the head space first. I have one that is really nice but with mismatched numbers. I checked the head space and it's not good. I decided not to shoot it. This was a gun my dad picked up somewhere and eventually put a sporter stock on, but never fired it.
It was a great shot no doubt, but if you notice, from what I saw anyway, the bullet hit low and left on the plate - not on the balloon. The fragments from the steel plate and/or bullet burst the balloon, which was about a foot or so from where the bullet hit.
The poll doesn't allow for checking more than one .357 handgun. I have a Taurus Model 66 (nickel) and also a NM Ruger Blackhawk single action with 6.5" barrel (blue with faux-ivory grips). Love them both.
I put a 2x4 on one side of my safe bottom to sit my shorter rifles on, but I only have 3 that need it. The false bottom would be better for more shorties.
I have Leupold scopes too, but I just bought a Vortex Diamondback 4x12-40mm. My rifle is at a gun shop in Oregon being re-bored and re-chambered so I haven't even mounted it yet. But, I'm very impressed with the quality. It's very light weight and the optics are really clear and sharp. I...
I've heard that, however the top of the receiver looks like the Remington name was ground off and re-stamped with "National Ordinance".
Is there a serial number data base that can be checked?
I added a link (above) to what looks like mine. I think this was Remington, however it was retooled by National Ordinance and re-stamped. I have had a gunsmith check it over for headspace and such. He said it all checks out fine and should be a good shooter. He also thinks it has a new barrel...
Help please...
I inherited an 03-A3 from my dad who put a sporter stock on it but did nothing with the sights. I hate the peep sight and would like to get rid of it and put a scope on it.
What's the normal removal method of the rear sight? I removed a small set screw on the right side and...
