    Lightest 30.06 round

I dont know if this is what you had in mind... Remington makes a saboted 55gr load (i think is actualy a .223, but I could be wrong) in 30-06. It can be hard to find, but it is very accurate.

    Best Bolt-action rifle

I think you are talking about hunting rifles... Right? For under a G-Note, I like the Tikka. If you have more to spend, I would personaly go with Weatherby in either the Accumark or Ultra Light Weight. I have an Ultra Light Weight in 30-06, and have used it all over north America with great...

    Newbie Knife question

benchmade all the way I am a HUGE fan of benchmade knives. There are quite a few in your price range, and I know that you will not be disapointed with their quality. I have carried a Benchmade CQC7 (an Emerson design) for about 10 years know. It is the most rugged folder that I have ever had...

    A question for HK owners

I don't know about the 9mm But my USP 45's don't do that. I had a 1911 that did the same thing about 2 years ago, and the problem was that the ejector was too short. I don't know if this is your problem, but that is where I would start. Some say that HK's customer service is ****, but the...

    5.56 Primer Pockets

Yes, they are. This is to keep them from dislodging due to recoil in full auto guns. It is a mil spec thing. you will not fin it on .223's. I don't reload .223/5.56 so I dont know about reaming the pockets. Hope this helps. Fred

    Advice on 60's Colt Python

I have two Pythons. SHOOT THAT BAD BOY!!! These guns are functional works of art! To not shoot it is a slap in the face of the artist who created it! If you have never shot a Python, you must do so to believe. You must join the cult of the snake. Pull that trigger! Feel the connection...

how many knives do you carry?

I only need one. The same one that I have carried for the last 10 years... My Bench Made CQC7. It has served me well for any task that a knife can be used for. Tough, reliable, easy to use... in my humble opinion, its the best folding knife ever made... but as I said, that's just MY opinion.

    AR15 Receiver (front) pivot pin?

I think so... Check out the bushmaster catalog. they have a few different types of pins... push pins, reverse offset pins expandable tensioning pins, and anti-walk pins. I don't know if these will work with your H-Bar, but it's worth looking into. Just a thought... Fred

Who carries/uses FMJ or other solid rounds?

another point... unless you reload,FMJ ammo tends to be of the cheap crap varity, while most HP's such a hydra shocks, rangers, XTP's, etc, are loaded with premium componets. I know that Federal uses a powder that reduces muzzle flash. And speaking of powder, the HP's usualy are more...
