I put an XS front sight and an XS aparture rear sight made for a Camp 9 on mine. The front sight uses the existing front sight mounting hole. The rear sight uses the rear scope mounting holes. Works great for my old Mark One Eyeballs.
Is installed a 21 pound spring in mine. I recommend it. If the buffer is blue or dark blue, it's probably a Blackjack buffer. An excellent and better replacement for white one Marlin uses.
I've had a Marlin Camp 9 since they came out. I've had no problems other than replacing the buffer. I replaced the recoil spring with a heavier one when I replaced the buffer. No problems with the stock cracking. My understanding is that cracked stocks is more of a problem with the Camp 45...

In California, possession of "pre-ban" magazines are allowed. One of the quirks of the law is that you may posses new large capacity magazine rebuild kits containing all the parts, but if you assemble them, it is a felony. Go figure....
