Gun likes the 143s, thank you for the suggestion. I'm getting a little under 1" at 100.
Thanks again.
Shot the 120s again and averaged about 3". Wild but its consistent now and I'm happy!
Thats ok. If it's done well for you I'm ok with that. I don't see myself shooting past 200 yards realistically. I just want better accuracy for peace of mind. Ill give the 143 a shot. thanks.
Oh..history...I started shooting a 223 contender 20 years ago. I'm now 32. I stepped over to a SRH in 44 mag probably 16 years ago. I picked up my first encore 10 years ago as a pistol frame and played with a 45-70 barrel before moving to 460 and finally the 6.5CR. My deer rifle is also an...
It's more of a brisk slap than anything. It's honestly pretty pleasant to shoot. I shot a box of shells through it today and didn't have any fatigue from it. I have a 460 barrel that is not at all friendly, especially with reloads...7 shots is my max...after that I've split the web between my...
Hey guys, more of a pocket rifle than a pistol. I have a Encore wearing a 15" MGM barrel with a 1:8 twist. No matter what I do, I cannot beat a 3" MOA using the 120 grain GMX ammo. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the twist of my barrel?
I am considering going to a 140 grain...
I got a really good look at the inside of the break and I can see no signs of a strike.
Ordering a flash hider tonight so I can see if that alleviates my issue. Should I go with an A2 style or the old school M16 three prong one?
3 prong looks easy because there's no indexing needed, just...
I can honestly say in all my years I haven't experienced an issue like this with any gun or with any of the 10 plus ARs I've built.
I'm still hoping it has to be a bad scope. It's a brand new nikon bdc though...I get a new scope in Wednesday. I'll report back after that...
In both situations it was a cheap amazon break. The one on the AR15 looks like a mini, more conical, howitzer break.
Aside from the scope and removing the break is there anything else I should investigate?
I thought my last shooting trip went OK...had a hard time getting zerod and that's never happened before...but last three shots grouped about 1.5 to 2" at 100.
This time 1" high. Next shot 3" left. Correct to 3" right. Bullseye. Next shot 2"left. Next shot not even on the target....next shot 2"...
Last year my dad bought a browning in 223 for my kids. We screwed a muzzle break on it and we noticed our 1" groups went to 6". Ended up leaving it off.
Fast forward I built a 300 blackout for the same kids. I am in the process of elimination but am seeing some very erratic groups. A spread...
If you could send me that I'd appreciate it. I have about 6 lbs of 296, reason I went with that. I had also heard it was one of the better powders for the caliber. I'll look into the data for Lil gun and try that.
I'm using small rifle primers. It may be worth it to try small magnum like you...
