Have decapped live ones too, just not hard or fast. Light press, or taps. Done it in the press and with the Lee depriming tool (seperate base cup and rod that you hammer with). No bangs, No problems.
I have tried RCBS', C&H's, and Dillon's. The Dillon Swaper 600 is a nice setup. Having processed a couple thousand military cases (LC, WCC, RA, PS,..etc) the Dillon made quick work.
One very useful tool is the RCBS Preicision Mic. It measures the headspace of the cases either unloaded or loaded. Zero on it is suppose to be 1.630 SAMMI min. I tried the Stoney Point too, but I liked the Mic better. The Stoney gave me weird info using their .400 adapter for the 308/3006...
