Bushmaster
I appreciate I am not the sweetest guy on the forum. But there are plenty of wolves ready to bite my okole around here for blaspheming against long held beliefs so basic to them.
I would try the nice approach, but my experience with being shot as a messenger doesnt allow it...
I will never understand why I am tempted...
to input on this forum. I should know better. Disagreement is the stock and trade on the internet unless you are praising what everyone else does and says, or their favorite products. "+1, buddypal!"
Keep doing it the way you were taught guys...
I am asking, if you have been able to load without belling, what your experience has been. This thread is not intended for beginning reloaders, and I doubt it would work with Lee presses. if you will excuse me for saying that (based on my experience).
I am NOT looking for your opinions about...
what works for me....
I reload in a spare bedroom. I use an 8' cheap folding table with a reinforcing slab of 3/4" birch plywood bolted under the press on the whole end of the table, where its strongest (over the legs). Works fine. Use an office type chair, and an air conditioner (gets hot...
Old 231...
I bought some in an old metal can because its hard to get any powder here. I resisted the first time, but had to take it the next time I wanted 231. I preferred newer, of course.
It didnt smell as sweet as new powder, but it didnt really smell bad. I noticed it was a lot...
Thanx gents..
Lots of great suggestions. I guess the bullets do come cheaper at Midway, if I can afford the shipping, and waiting a month for parcel post to show up here. The pulldown bullets were Midway's or are we talking about XM193PD's from somebody?
Some different suggestions for...
Oh oh. Im up to 26 cents per round already...
With high powder costs here in HI of $28/#, that cost is 12c/rd, 11c for shipped cheaper bullets & 3c for primers, and I'm only 6c/rd below the cost of shipped XM193. And on top of that, tools are extra costs too, that wont be recouped for over 1k...
Hi gents. I am hoping to reload some Federal ammo after its shot, someday.
Im new to this caliber and would appreciate any suggestions for POWDER, and WEIGHTS that you enjoy.
Also, I am looking for a source on .223 cal BULLETS. Where do you get them? Midway & Cabelas dont seem to stock...
loose primer pockets
Can anyone elaborate on this? I have not loaded my auto pistol cases enough yet (have too many).
How loose is too loose? Pop in too easily with a hand primer or what?
I have some "once-fired" I am wondering about, it is Win 45 acp. I am assuming it has not...
Well....
I dont know if you will think its any better, but plastic gloves will help stick to the case and keep your fingers from getting black when you use a bit in a drill. I use a sharp chisel pointed bit from Forster I think, but not in their contraption.
Talk about wandering...
Well they do have alot more information about the situation in a questions section, which I didnt see at first, and havent kept up on. I was a bit disappointed there was no conection to the blurb about being down, and to check out a different area for more info about...
Sure, I have liked Top Brass for 45 acp. I have around 4 hundred that I have only loaded twice now, but I like it better than the new Win brass, that I once had a bit of trouble with in this caliber (seating squarely). It is the only caliber I bought new TB for, but it has performed fine. I...
