What's the price for an original Colt 1861 Navy?

Thanks Jaeger. I just wanted to know about the X's, without the giveaway. I'm still not convinced. If I managed to buy this gun, a number of people will now. How would not being sure if it was 17VW or 17XY, deter a possible thief?

What is the use of not showing the full serial number in the text, like #17XX? One of the pictures clearly shows the serial number - if the gun in the pictures is the one on auction. Not that I would mind if it was another number in the 1700's.

2nd generation, that's still Colt, isn't it? No replica, I mean.

Sure that's not a replica, pohill? It looks brand new. ;-) When I look at antiqueguns, it shows an empty bidding history. Maybe they don't show the biddings when you are not registered? Or is it like Ebay, where you wait to the last minute to bid?

Hej Daniel, if you plan to bid, let me know, I don't want to bid against you. How did you have the pieces shipped to Europe? Gerard

What's the price for an original Colt 1861 Navy?

Thanks folks. I had been looking around on the internet, but managed to miss the links you provided. Your reactions show that I probably was going to make an expensive mistake. I wouldn't mind bidding on antiqueguns.com, he says he ships to Europe. I can give the price difference to MSF...

What's the price for an original Colt 1861 Navy?

Hallo, this time I'd like some advice before buying. I'd like to know what I should be prepared to pay for an "antique" Colt 1861 Navy, serial no. in the 7000's, so, probably made in 1863, but without military marks. Functions perfectly, I am told. I suppose it may not be a good...

Help me identify this FN pocket pistol

Well, I wouldn't call it blue (the picture is quite accurate), but the invoice (the shop where it was bought is still there, I'll pay them a visit) and the FN carton box would suggest it to be commercial issue, no? What a pleasure to shoot. With one hand I have better results than two-handed...

Help me identify this FN pocket pistol

Fabrique Nationale 1922 7,65mm (for the large pocket!) world.guns.ru claims this gun was made up to 1983!! I just got one myself: img_0723.jpg (link only works during the day here in Belgium, 6h30' - 22h). It was bought in 1946, I have the invoice, written in pencil. One shot was fired...

Your thoughts about this old revolver

Oh, but I do! It's making my girlfriend jealous.

Can a black powder firearm be used for home defense?

I'm also interested in a range report on your R&S, massnee.

Your thoughts about this old revolver

Lots of similarities, indeed. Main difference would be the grips. Poor thing. Did you get it functioning again?

Your thoughts about this old revolver

Not in my thread, you won't, Jim K. ;-) Anyhow, thanks once again to those who liked this piece, and those who took a wild guess at who made it, and where and when it was made. It was sold to me as being an 1850 Daw, but I had no way of judging this to be true, so the previous owner could...

    Weak hand pistol shooting

I'm right handed, practice left hand shooting with my Walther PP and my Winchester, and, just for fun, I can load my Walther's mag with my left hand only. It takes time, though.

    Guns in movies

the good, the bad, the ugly I just wanted to ask about this one, which revolvers they are using. At one time, Blondie is loading his gun with bullets, although I would have sworn it has a rammer, in the finale you can see the caps on Angel Eyes' piece.
