    The "Ka-Bar for 40 bucks" is a very good knife, but the Camillus/Becker BK-7 for around $55 is a excellent knife, and is well worth the "extra" $15.

    Cold Steel, Benchmade or Spyderco??

    Get either a Benchmade 551 Griptilian, or the smaller 556 Mini-Griptilian...These are some of the best folders to be found for under $100.

    BTW...I have 2 (excellent) Griptilians; A 556 "Mini", and a 551 "full-size", and they both also sport mirror-polished clips, as do ALL 7 of my Benchmade folders.

    The BM 690 is an excellent folder, but you also might want to take a look at the BM 710 (the Axis-lock and G-10 scales is hard to beat), or if you REALLY don't want to look like a "commando", take a look at one of the colored BM Griptilians or Mini-Griptilians...It's pretty hard to look...

    As ALOT of (smart) folks have suggested; Get a Benchmade Griptilian or Mini-Griptilian...They are ALOT of knife for the money, and you have your choice of either dual thumb-studs (551/556) or a hole (550/555) to open the blade with, as well as a few different colors to choose from.

    I carry my knives as BOTH a tool (Benchmade 722) and as a weapon (Benchmade 805).
