    I Survived A Home Invasion

And that, boys and girls, is why when you live is bad neighborhoods you empty the car first and then go about changing clothes or whatever.

    Gander mountain visit

I would not call the guy selling his Kimber an idiot. He walked away with a sure $420, no strings attached. He could have gotten more selling privately, but probably did not know how and could not afford to mess something up or get ripped off.

    my wouldbe home invasion experience

Floodlights would be a very good idea. Maybe two or three on each corner of the house, that could all be lit up by one of several switches in the house. You can light up the entire area around you house, while blinding anyone who might be approaching. Not sure about the driveway sensor...

    Bersa Thunder .380

I don't think it's possible to buy a better new handgun for the price of a new Bersa 380.

... and then you realize you are a mall ninja

This is a rather disappointing thread. Here I expected to read something like "So you decide to carry your sidearm is a tactical thigh holster because it shaves a few 10ths of a second off your draw time. Then you realize that you need to get some long coats so you can properly conceal it...

    Considering a Rimfire Revolver

I recently got a new stainless Taurus 94 with a 4" barrel. Got it from a local Bass Pro for $320. A buttery smooth S&W it certainly isn't, but then it was at least $300 less as well. Everything I've read seems to indicate that the 94 will generally smooth out after around 1000 rounds, so I'll...

    is a Rossi 971 .357 mag a copy

I suspect a lot of accessories for the S&W 19 will work with the Rossi 971. I know that B Square makes a scope mount for the 19 that is also spec'd to fit the 971, but you need a 6" barrel to mount it.

    is a Rossi 971 .357 mag a copy

The Rossi 971 is a copy of the square butt S&W 19. If you take the grips off you gun you will probably find that the back corner of the grip frame is rounded, but the rest of the shape conforms to the S&W square butt design.

Any tips for a cross country trip

Maybe look for a small used trailer. Something like a 4x6 or a motorcycle trailer. If you can fit everything into the trunk and the trailer you can keep your stuff out of sight in the hotel lots. Once you get to your destination you could probably sell the trailer for about what you paid for it.

We need a new thread on Abominations...

    Mountain biking ccw options.

I would go with an inexpensive snubnosed .357 revolver. If the hydration pack had a wide enough belt then I would just get a padded nylon superslide holster, that is if open carry is an option. From the superslide holsters I've had they cover the gun rather well, with the grip, hammer, and...

    .357 ammo cost

I don't plan on buying any more factory ammo for my .357 unless I don't have a choice in the matter. A few years back I bought a bunch off CCI Blazer, my practice round at the time, at a gun show for $12.50 a box. IIRC, the same stuff is selling for around $17 per box on Sportsmans Guide...

Is Lee load data underloaded ?

dwave is right, and what Lee does in his book is take the max charge data and reduces it by 10%. That's what he calls the starting load. If you read the rest of Lee's Modern Reloading book he will state that in there somewhere. +1 on getting a scale here to, no matter what powder measure...

Fights are becoming more and more common around my home. What to do?

Airman, what is the configuration of your back yard? Does it have access to an alley? If it does maybe you can park your car back there so it's off the street. Most towns in your part of PA are laid out like that. Maybe park the other care on a different street the kids don't frequent as...

    Relative cost of ammo...

If neither of those MEC's are for .410 you can probably get a conversion kit for it. Check MEC's website once you know the model number of the presses.
