Forming a trust...how long for BATF approval?

For us as a FFL/SOT gunshop most of our customers using Trusts for Form 4s for suppressors and SBRs takes about 7-8 weeks as of late. Early last year things were slower most then taking 12-16 weeks.

Glock 19 textured grip by Hatfield Gunsmiffin'

I shoot with a 'gamer' grip. I get very high up and forward on the gun. Unlike some instructors who teach against contact with the gun. I maintain as much contact as I can get with the frame with my reactive/support side thumb. My grip pressure is about 75% from the reactive/support side and...

Glock 19 textured grip by Hatfield Gunsmiffin'

I just had my old school 2nd gen Glock 19 texturized because it's really slick. The guy who did it is a new NoVA gunsmith (NoVA needed another great gunsmith) he also undercut the trigger guard so I can get a little higher up on the gun. I felt his aggressive grip and it was a little too rough...

    AR carbine stock staking (comparision)

Colt STAG/early S&W (very weak, but better than none, before using I would redo it) Bushmaster (non existent staking, before using I would stake this) Rock River Arms (they don't stake they blue Loc-Tite. I would heat and remove this stock, clean off the Loc-Tite reassemble and...

    AR carrier key staking (comparison)

These are the AR carriers I had in our shop at the time. Of the brands listed I would only consider the Colt and LMT 'proper' staking. Everything else should be restaked with a MOACKS tool by Ned Christiansen. Or at least by using a hammer and punch/chisel moving some metal into the carrier...

    AR-15 Picatinny rail scope mount...

As suggested already, your best option is the LaRue Tactical scope SPR mount. They go for roughly $200 If you don't want to spend that much look at the Armalite 1pc mount which goes for $90 (but you should lap the rings). LaRue. Armalite.

Question about the MK12 rifle used by the Seal Teams

The 'interweb' is your friend (well sometimes). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Navy_Mark_12_Mod_X_Special_Purpose_Rifle It's a standard direct impingment AR gas system.

Questions on how the gas system works on AR's

There's greater gas pressure in shorter gas systems for two reasons. One is that a gas tube on a carbine length system is 5" shorter (thus closer) than on a rifle length system. Two on some barrels say a 11.5", 12.5" and 14.5" the gas port is the barrel is larger than on a 20" rifle barrel...

Aimpoint on an Ultimak Rail (AK)- QD or no QD?

I use that same scope ring on my Aimpoint C3 on an UltiMak rail and the sights can be seen through the Aimpoint. I used it for the 1st Larry Vickers AK class. The UltiMak never got hot enough to burn me.

Anyone handle the HK P30 yet?

I handled one (didn't get to fire it) a few weeks ago from the HK rep. It's very nice. It's essentially a service size P2000. It's side panels on the grip can be changed out as well. They're held in by the backstrap. The one I saw was a 9mm DA/SA with the slide mounted decocker. It'll be...
