Hello,
I have seen claims from time to time about being careful about pointed ammo in tubular magazines (i.e., for a lever action).
I was looking at grabbing some Fiocchi .357 truncated FMJ. Any potential trouble here?
I get a little particular about ammo. Though I have no evidence at all that the silicone residue contacted any ammo at all (the Ammos in boxes in the cans, and the residue was only visible spreading a half inch from the top of the can) I still got worried about the ammo. It should all be good...
Howdy.
For ammo storage, I use silicone grease on the seal of the ammo can. Some ammo cans I'll leave sealed before checking every few months.
The other day I noticed some residue from the slight amount of grease I use tracking about a half inch down the wall of the can.
I got to...
Hello -- the take down screw hole on the 10/22 (that attaches the stock to the gun assembly) -- how durable is it? After repeated disassemblies, has anyone managed to strip it?
Would a titanium screw be kinder to the hole threads than the stock steel one?
I keep to 357/38 caliber across my firearms. I have revolvers & a lever.
Considering that, I was thinking about adding a scoped GP100 (6") to the mix, especially with my rougher eyesight.
For those who have opinions about adding a scope to a revolver, pro or con -- talk me in or out of...
I wanted one, and somehow my LGS had one in stock.
Handled it. Worked the action. I have a lever in 357 as well.
I ended up putting it back. I think I'd rather have a 6" revolver.
What I've found is that if the strut (which is seated correctly) is place fully forward on the rests (i.e., on the rest closest to the barrel) in the frame, it makes the noise. Fully backward, it doesn't. There is plenty of give.
I asked the same question over at RugerForum.net and everyone...
Hello, quick question. I recently disassembled and reassembled my GP100.
In checking for functionality upon reassembly, all appears to be well.
One thing I noticed that I don't recall from before (but, of course, probably just didn't notice before):
When you put the revolver into...
Checking back in: I disassembled the GP100 and ran gun scrubber through the component parts. Using a Keyboard cleaner (compressed air), everything dried really quickly.
With trace amounts of hoppes oil, I relubed everything I could. Reassembled. Good to go, it seems.
One note: I highly...
