I have many 1911s of different manufacture. I feel the best bargain you can find is a "Loaded Springfield". When you get it replace trigger parts with a Power Customs Tacticle Match trigger kit of your choosing. For $950 you will have the equal to a $1500-$2000 box custom pistol.
classic arms has beautiful Polish .380s under $200. I understand money is what it is but High Point makes the ugliest firearms I think I have ever seen. Think it over before you spend hard earned money.

Rural areas with little crime also have little law enforcement. Some of the rural counties in Va could have a response time as long as 20 minutes to a call of someone kicking in your door. Best to be prepared.
opinions are just that. You have to go with what you like. I like the G26 with grip extension on mag. and s&w model 60. With the 60 you only get 5 shots but full-boat .357 mag ammo gives an unreal muzzle blast in a 2 inch barrel.

I own several 1911's and Glocks. Guns that are worlds apart but I like both styles. I feel safe carrying either style as is and think if a Glock needed another safety Gaston would have put it there. Both guns are great but the Glock wins the comfort battle in concealed carry.
