Gew88 may be an obsolete rifle but it is hard to beat these pre-WWI sporters for elegance.

Saw this really nice looking Gew88 sporter that had a double stack magazine flush with the bottom of the stock rather than the normal single stack magazine sticking down below the stock. How was this done? Is it a straight forward conversion or does it take major surgery?

I have a LEE mould that casts .329 205gr bullets. I need a 205gr .320 bullet. No problem getting a .320 sizing die and if necessay I can resize in two steps, .329 to .323 to .320. Question is what will this do to the bullet in terms of shootabliltiy? Are there undesirable side effects of...

I have a Siamese Mauser converted to 45-70. Looking for loading information and just about the only thing available is for realitive low pressure loads, ~18,000psi. The Mauser action should be able to handle a much hotter load than that. Question is how hot is to hot for a 45-70 Mauser...

Anyone have any experiance with this cast bullet? I was thinking of resizing to .324 and using it in an 8mm Mauser. Gas checked at ~2000fps.

Even if it is refinished I like it. Nice hefty gun that is almost 100 years old, whats not to like. Going to look really cool with pearls. Wonder if it is to big to be my carry piece?

Thanks for the responses to my questions. BTW if anyone knows where I can get a set of original grips I would appreciate hearing from you.

A couple of pics. These don't show the finish to best advantage. Also there is some sort of film over the blue, looks like thin varnish. Found a few very small spots of rust under the grips and on the back of the cylinder.

I am bragging just a bit but I would really like to know what its true value is. I got it so cheap I can be pretty sure what I paid is below what it is worth.
