Nice gun
Had mine a few years now. Very easy take-down. Accurate enough. Probably the least expensive hammer fired all metal gun around. I have the two tone and it is very nice looking. Comfortable grip. Parts are available from Eagle imports.
Cons:
Slide doesn't lock on empty consistently...
Because it sounds cool
Kahr uses on premium models. IIRC my Bersa T9UC has it too.
It's supposedly has better gas sealing, but I think it's faster because of less friction. Glock uses hexagonal for smaller calibers and octagonal for 45 caliber.
I think it's easier to clean because you...
I like my "mid size" M&P 45 fine. Even though the trigger isn't great, I shoot it better than anything else I own.
I do know the 45 is different from the 9 and 40 because fewer parts interchange in the trigger group. I would guess that the frame is larger, since that is the norm on 45s that are...
Horizontal mag pouch from SHTF Gear, about $20. Looks like a knife case and mag is pretty well covered. Carry bullets up and they don't come out. Don't see how rounds just pop out, top round tends to nosedive it is in there so tight.
CM9 And CW9 are both "value" models. CM and MK are the same general size. The CW is the size of the P and K models. Kahr has some odd model numbers and the mags don't inspire confidence.
The top round sits tilted up high, and feeding the first round is a problem on my CW9 at times. When the...
Bersa
I have 9UC and it's a good gun. Over 1000 rounds, no problems.
Every review of the 45UC I have read has been positive. The Thunder 9, 40, and 45 all seem to be good reliable pistols.
The pistols you are looking at are both DA/SA, and you originally wanted SA. They are also both...
Bersa
Thunder 9, regular or UC. The 45 is good, but only available in UC size (7+1 rds).
Good SA/DA trigger, ambi slide stop and safety. Reversible mag release. Sights can replaced with Sig to get tritium or whatever you prefer. Parts readily available through importer.
I have a Witness...
Yes
The XD 9SC comes with 13rd flush and 16rd extended mags. The 16rd is the same as for a full size XD9, but comes with a slip on grip for the mag.
You might need/want the grip sleeve, which you can find online.
I have the UC9 and it is a fine gun. Does have an internal lock, but the mechanism is extremely simple. No mag disconnect on the UC9.
Safety/decocker is frame mounted and down to fire. Up disconnects trigger and decocks. Controls are good, but make it wide. Grip is long enough to get all 3...
Glock trigger dingus
The trigger blade is primarily a drop safety. The striker block is effective if the gun is dropped on the muzzle, but not if dropped on the butt.
The trigger and trigger bar could have enough inertia to "pull" the trigger if dropped, which defeats the striker block. The...
I vote Kel Tec for service and parts availability. Better ergos and hold open won't matter if you have to send it in for the most minor issue.
As another poster mentioned, I found there is not enough space in front of the trigger on a Kel Tec. That's why I went with a Kahr. In 380 get a CM380...
When is a dingus a drop safety?
Directly from Glock's explanation of “Safe Action”:
The trigger safety is designed to protect against firing if the pistol is dropped or the trigger is subjected to lateral pressure.

So they call it a trigger safety, but it...

Gunblast measured 3.1 lbs with a Lyman digital scale. Most reviews have reported between 3 and 4 lbs. I tried one in the LGS and it is scary light for a pistol with no safety.
It is no 1911 though - the one I tried had two stages and significant creep in both.
