    bow for wife/child/preteen

An adjustable draw length is ket, because draw lenghts will changed if: A release is used, and if the grip is changed. I bring up the grip change as in my experience, many women (And alot of men) prefer padded after market grips as aposed to the stiff, solid factory grips. Best way to...

    bow for wife/child/preteen

Both PSE Chaos and Diamonds Razors edge are great bows for women and young adults. Typical draw weight for most of the female clients I have run across is between 45 and 55lbs. I have however had female clients shoot bows with draw weights up to 70lbs she was by no means a large lady. A...

    .22-250 For Deer

I've had clients kill elk with a .22-250. As stated shot placement is key. In my experience elk have a will to live unmatched by any other animal I have seen. If the little gun worked on them, a deer should tip over just as easy. Take your time and put it in the boiler room. I myself like...

    Coyote Hunt Planned - Pointers?

THis is a good time of year to give it a try......they just finished up breeding. They are hungry and extremely territorial this time of year. They are getting ready to drop their pups soon. Dying rabbit screams work good. Play on the territorial aspect by incorporating dog barks as well. I...

    horses

I agree.......like I said digging into it looks like they may get some government funding for a trial park on this....I'm sure the thought is it will make a tourist park, and generate some revenue in a stagnant economy.

    horses

When I firtst read this I thought nobody in their right mind would even suggest something like this........then I did a little digging. Here is a link I found on the genius who came up with the idea to reintroduce the lion to the US. After a little more digging....I found out that they may...

    New to hunting, caliber questions..

Either of which are great rifles for those distances. The 06 will drop less at the latter part of the distances mentioned. I have had clients shoot elk with everything from .243's to a .460 weatherby. Shot placement is key as in all hunting.

    .416 Barrett whoops again.

Yes, all the windows except the drivers door window as it was down, and the passenger door becasue that door was open. Agreed on new people to hang out with.......but they are absolute comedy relief.

Alaska bear defense: 12g or .45-70

Art......I agree with you on the 000 buck when the range is extended at all beyond point blank.....I have always had a loading of a slug first....followed by a buckshot blend....of round 2 as 000 buck followed by the remaining rounds of #1 buck. Years back I recall a tale of 3 deer hunters in...

    .416 Barrett whoops again.

A while back I posted a recount of a friend who bought a .416 barrett and decided to shoot it inside an almost enclosed trap shooting bunker. It didn't go well...... Well have you ever forgot......happened to him. Him and another buddy of mine were out doing some driving looking for coyotes...

    Best Caliber That Never Took-off

+ 1 on the .35 whelen, and 6mm Remington. Also the 7mm STW.

Alaska bear defense: 12g or .45-70

I would like to add to a comment from above.......if you have seen buckshot fail on a medium bear.......he fired too soon........at point blank range...the range that the game and fish will not charge you for wrongfully killing a bear.....buckshot is one of the finest rounds on the market...

    Handgun physics question

your math is correct....however it does not account for your bodies reaction to forces impossed upon it. Your joints work as a cushion, a do your muscles, tendons, and skeletal structure. When punched in the stomach.....which by a typical adult male will result in around 300-400 psi of energy...

Alaska bear defense: 12g or .45-70

Either is a great choice. As was posted by horsesoldier, speed of delivery is what will make the difference. I myself can cycle a pump action shotgun much fast than I can work a lever or a bolt. A second thought on the slug senario is to load your first round as a slug, and the remaining as...

Ever been tempted to shoot squirrel from the deerstand?

Squirels no, in my area they are not real prevelent. But I have shot countless pheasants and a few coyotes from my stands.
