    Ruger SR9c

bannockburn, Yeah, functionality wise, the Ruger is every bit as good as anything out there, and in some cases, better. One of the biggest things (aside from me liking much of the Ruger line) is the grip of the gun......very ergonomic and "feel friendly"......like it belongs in your hand, or...

    Ruger SR9c

AStone, Glad you liked the gun !......I always say "a man has to love his gun"....and that encompasses many factors aside from just reliable functionality. I've handled, worked on, and shot literally hundreds of Glocks in my old line of work.....been to 2 Glock Armorer's schools, owned a...

Please help me diagnose my crappy Glock 23 shooting

I agree with you guys ^^^^^^^ If a Ransom Rest, or something of the sort is available, eliminate the gun and ammo as being the culprit first off......if at all possible. The problem we had, with a dozen or so senior instructors, who were match shooters, reloaders, etc., was that not a one of...

    Fabricated Slug Gun

As idiotic as it sounds, once we passed the law up here in good old western NY to hunt with handguns back in the very early 80's, I never carried, or hunted with a slug gun again. That was the hunter side of me, but the caster & hand loader side of me still continued on and obsessed over...

Please help me diagnose my crappy Glock 23 shooting

ClickClick, I'd respectfully agree to disagree on this one..... On average (especially in double action mode), too much finger on the trigger will push the shot left for right handed shooters as the finger contracts......right for lefties. Holding the sites (or frame) steady while your...

    Dillon SD Pregnant!

Although a tad pricey I guess........I do love the Dillon dies as well. A lot of thought went into their design....ease of use wise......

    Press Help

Although I have two Dillon 550B's and a Square Deal B, I still have a single stage Orange Crusher for rifle rounds and a T-Mag Lyman for loading certain handgun rounds I don't need a ton of. Loading rifle rounds on the Orange Crusher is just a matter of preference. I enjoy paying more...

    Dillon SD Pregnant!

    New hunting handgun

Wow.....interesting.....CVA Scout ?.......haven't seen one yet. I've been a big single break action handgun hunter/shooter since the law was passed to do so back here in western NY......way back in the early 80's. I did a ton of work with the .357 Max when the law was .35 cal or bigger...

Please help me diagnose my crappy Glock 23 shooting

Yeah....true...... Have someone load the mag for (away from) you so you don't know when the dummy comes up......I've done that before when instructing with revolvers. Gotta watch the shooter closely from behind, but it works....... I'm not there with ya, and can only assume on some things...

    Semi-Auto for Revolver Guys????

I carried a Beretta 96 on duty for several years after being an "old school" hold out with the revolver when others went to the auto long before me. I was the head instructor for my dept. for eon's and those others thought I was a mental defective for doing so. Although I see the necessity for...

Please help me diagnose my crappy Glock 23 shooting

With too much finger on the trigger, most often right hander's shoot (or push) left, and left hander's shoot (or push) right. As the finger curls in to squeeze the trigger it kind of "preloads" or puts tension on the gun so when the shot goes off, it snaps it that direction slightly. Obviously...

    Unique powder

Unique has been a standard use powder for me for years and years........light to moderate loads with cast bullets....which is what I primarily use in my handguns. 8.5-9.0 grains in the .44 Mag under a Keith style 240 gr. bullet will net you 1000 fps, and be accurate as hell. When I opt for...

    Linotype?

Nice read...... Lino runs at a given, or standard 21-22BHN as far as (brinell) hardness is concerned. Pure lead is rated at 5BHN. Wheelweights, which are most commonly used for bullets, run at 8-9BHN. Water quenching (dropping bullets straight from the mould into cold water) regular WW...

    243 Reloading

My new Browning A-Bolt (first Browning rifle I've ever owned) shoots unbelievably well with IMR4895 and the 58 gr. VMax's. Under an inch at 200yds. yesterday........ But, if it gets dirty, a baseball won't cover 3 shots..........a quick cleaning and she's right back there...... Bob
