That's ridiculous. Chupacabras are in the Midwest and Latin America; they rarely come to NC. Silver bullets in any good stopping caliber may work, as some legends state that they're good against vampires as well as werewolves, but put holy water, garlic, and crosses on them too, just in case...

I name everything I own, usually after a cool character from a book I've recently read. Having said that, I just got my first gun--a 9mm. 1911--and named it Narsil. Yeah, just finished The Silmarillion. Still trying to think of something for the black-powder rifle my dad (also recently) gave me.

Wow... Just wow. I'm really going to need to look into this myself. Of course, I live on campus most of the time, so being able to carry concealed legally may not do much for another year or so, but it would be pretty nice to have some form of protection everywhere else. This really is wonderful...

So far, no troubles at NCSU. I know of 7 or 8 people here who should definitely be participating (though one is sick with pneumonia), and I haven't heard of anyone having any problems. Personally, I'm a bit more self-conscious because of it, so I'm probably noticing people giving me odd looks...
