Just a simple question. Can the 38/357 Lyman M expanding die be used to expand 9mm Luger cases?. I´d like to save some money as I already have the 38/357. And I´m very pleased with it, much more than with the Lee expander.

Warning: Load over max. Only for modern revolvers in good condition. Use at your own. What I do, as suggested here, is to seat a 98 HBWC in the upper lube cannelure, thus getting more volume for the powder. Then load with 2.2 grains of Bullseye, a little more is not needed to get the velocity...

Even a 32 sw long wc seated long (I mean first grease groove), with ***** powder, A very fast one, would give a good choice. LHBWC are a very good choice for both a target load and and SD one. Just find your way.

I use a Lyman. Plugs for WC, SWC or FP and RN. The one for WC allows you to seat the bullet slightly under flush, to later roll crimp it exactly as factory ammo. BTW the expander die is wonderfull.

As far as I know detonation with low charges only may happen in rifle ammo. The main concern about low charges in handguns is a bullet that got stuck in the barrel. It´s easy to notice if you feel a very low recoil. It´s easy to avoid by shooting just one round in the mag and cheking if it left...
