    What have YOU used for hogs?

    i know this is a little off topic... im going hog/deer huntin tomorrow (whichever we see) and can use either a .222 rem or a .243. both are bolt, 5 shot magazines. i have shot the .222 a lot, and am very familiar with it, but have never used the .243. the .243 has a much nicer scope on it...

    ive killed one with my M1 carbine bayonet... i shot him, dropped him, was out of ammo, and stuck him with the bayonet. it was one of those four sided spike things. the hog was about 275#

    nice trap ya got set up there flintknapper... trapping is definately the most effective way thin them out. me and my dad set up to portable traps on a cattle lease a couple of years ago and wiped out 50+ in about 2 months. we also shoot them on sight, and have our land pretty much clean of them...

    I have shot many with a .22, both running and still, two with a .222, one running one still, and 15 or so with an M1 Carbine. I have figured out that shot placement is more important than anything else. most of these hogs were 150 to 250 lbs
