Sounds like the "armed neighbor" needs some marksmanship lessons. Shooting someone could be a good way to avoid getting run over. Since they also stole a rifle and were driveing towards the neighbor I'd say justified (but sloppy) shooting. Where'd those five rounds go ?

Quality, not quantity (except maybe ammo - BOTH on that one !). Having a 1911 BBQ rig on order from Purdy Gear is a good start.

I'd say those locations are too populated. Terrain is flat. Skips & overshoots will happen sooner or later. Trees are NOT a backstop, need the aforementioned big honkin' hill.

There are "safes" , more like a lockbox which can be installed in most truck consoles between the seats Console vaults. I usually just keep mine in the holster or set it under the dog. (He bites !)
