Congrats! To those who can't shoot more than one.....I routinely shoot 3-4 deer a year in Minnesota and Wyoming. Just higher populations I guess.

Much like my dad - I use wood stock guns. My two main guns are from the early 70's.... My boyfriend however is much more interested in the black sythetic look.

I hunt every year....never heard of the place. Never had to worry about a draw either.

Only if she was comfortable and skillful enough to take it....

Big drop in sightings of actual deer....but not in sign. They were out there - they just weren't moving during the shooting hours.

I hear a lot of talk about them crazy 'city folk' (as I'm farmgirl in the city now) but back at my parents place - there more than enough local morons doing that same crap. Sound shots, poaching, spotting. There are plenty of rural folks that I know personally that I don't trust with a gun.

I only take heart/lung shots....and out of 35 or more deer - I've had two drop in their tracks, two or three drop after a few steps and the rest ran 20 yards or more.

It is very time consuming but worth it to me as I'm very picky about how my deer is butchered.

Excellent!! I wish I could get my b/f to hunt. It won't ever happen but I'm just happy that he loves to shoot and actually wants to come with on the hunting trips.

We usually put up some camo print material around the stand. works like a charm.

I'd say go with what ever you are most accurate with.

I've never scouted yet. I've been hunting the same two pieced of property my whole life. I've never been skunked. Every year that I hunt I get at least one deer. I've gotten as many as four a year. By and large I tree stand hunt. I also make drives, still hunt, and stalking...

I hunt annually in Wyoming and have gone past several outfitters. I'll try and dig up the names and numbers when I get home.

Unfortunately - where I hunt in Minnesota I can only use shotgun...
