My simple remedy for keeping your nipple dry in extremely wet conditions is to flatten the top of a #2 slip-on pencil eraser and slip it over your #11 nipple. Makes a nice snug watertight seal and a soft rest for my sidelock hammer to rest on.
I am not trying to get the reciever red hot. There is a method useing cold blue and limited use of torch flame heat. I have seen results although it does eventually wear off.

I have used the T/C 7197 rear hunting peep (that is still availiable) on my Seneca's and cherokee's althought the 7196( discontinued) is the catalog match the 7197 fits beautifully on both recievers....Hope this helps
