Ballistics By The Inch tested four loads in .32ACP. The Cor-Bon 60gr. JHP reached supersonic speeds, but the other three stayed firmly subsonic out to an 18" barrel, at which point the speeds were dropping with increasing barrel length.

Well, now, that prompts a question. I ran out of H4895, and haven't seen it available for almost a year. But I did get a pound of A2520. Can that be used for reduced loads to the tune of 60% of max the way H4895 can, or does the resemblance just not go that far?

Hodgdon's reloading website shows the recommended load of IMR4320 as 44.1 to 49.0 grains, with Winchester brass. I brought home 9 pieces of Winchester range pickup to compare with my PPU brass, by weighing how much A2520 fine-grained ball powder would fill them to the neck...
After studying the cases, I have decided that MtnCreek is right, these are ejector marks. Their appearance changes with lighting and aperture (camera > eye), and I formed my impression while at the range, seeing trapezoidal shine marks rather than circular. (The extractor is trapezoidal.)...
