The Switchblade Act was passed by politicians frightened at the prospect of Puerto Ricans running around with the blades. They got the idea from watching "West Side Story" on Broadway.
The first amendment is outdated. At the time it was written, the free press used machines quite unchanged from Gutenberg's. Free speech was what you did from a soap box or in a tavern.
RIght now I'm thinking of getting some 32 round 9mm mags for a long planned SBR build. If I can find them at a reasonable price.
I bought dies, brass, and bullets for a .44 Mag before I received the gun. I had loaded ammo before I received the gun.
The feeling I'm getting reading Diane Fienstein's press release is that transfers of grandfathered items will be banned. So the price for those items will be the black market price.
I considered using L.E. Wilson case holders, but didn't want to mess them up. What worked for me, at least for .308 was a piece of copper pipe strapping. I folded it in a "U" around the shell and squeezed the loose ends in a vise. Since I used a hand drill, I had to try a couple of times...
Another lefty here. My ARs are right handed. I use an ambi safety, mag release, and charging handle. I find myself using the stock mag release with my right hand more than the ambi on the left. I use a Magpul BAD lever to release the BCG with my right hand.
Not a new idea. Remington sold (or sold) "Accelerators" in .30-06 to push .224 cal bullets beyond 4000 fps. Also were (are) available in .308 and .30-30. Accuracy is not that good.
I have killed deer with my 1894C using the Buffalo Bore 158 grain JHP at 40 to 60 yards. I chronographed the round and got about 1975 fps, not what they advertise. The bullet appears to be a Gold Dot and does a lot of damage to a white tail.
