Which gun makes you feel like you own perfection?

Sig P220 The rest is up to me.....

    What About the 590?

Roughly 300 rounds (not many) through my 590 with only one failure. The failure was due to the stock spring, which became mangled. I replaced it with a Wolff spring (at roughly 20 rounds) and have had no problems since. The 590 is a solid shotgun. I have added several "A1" parts, in addition to...

Does your range let you shoot shotguns with slugs at the "rifle range"

In a word, yes. If the rifle range is tapped out, they allow for the shotgun/slug combo via the handgun range as well. The only downside of this particular indoor range....25 yards max.

    Supernova Question.

The GR sights on the Supernova are of high quality. In terms of the Remington 870P...I too desire one of these. However, from what I gather, they are not perfect and according to some, may be a bit overrated. Still, it seems like a good shotgun. Anyway, the Benelli SN is a solid choice; One...

Tactical/HD Shotgun Thread! Lets see your boom boom sticks!

Unless I am selling something, I have always been a bit leery of the whole "show and tell" thing. ;) But, I will say that I have a decently equipped Mossberg 590 (with a few A1 parts) for HD duty, if necessary.

    Bury a rifle?

If I had to bury a rifle it would certainly be a trusty AK47. But, if things ever got so bad that I had to start burying weapons, then I would probably have much, much more to worry about.

What does your permit allow you to carry?

Technically speaking, in terms of a CCW....my permit allows for a revolver, derringer and/or semi-automatic handgun, since I "qualified" with a semi-automatic. The only thing I can "openly" display [loaded] is a long gun, if in my vehicle.

    Are you Paranoid?

The word "paranoid" has always seemed quite subjective to me, hence I wont bother stating where or when I keep a loaded weapon around. Regardless, I do think that the idea of [an individual or individuals] "being prepared" indeed manifests itself differently based on past experiences, location...

Is it okay to store empty shotgun cocked?

I wonder...will the aluminum snap cap corrode any faster than the metal found on the spent shell? Dubious. If the gun is only fired once every 5 years or so (for instance), then I probably would not bother with a snap cap. But, if it is fired ever season, keeping such an item within the chamber...

    Crazy sidesaddle mounting idea...

I understand your perspective. However, that receiver mounted carrier is close enough to your face (compared to the butt stock mounted equivalent) to essentially make this argument somewhat void. If one is trying to grab for spare ammo, regardless of location, during a heated exchange...bad...

If you could only have one long gun for all purposes

First choice: AK47 Second choice: .308 rifle Third choice: 12 gauge shotgun (pump)

If the 'S' never 'HTF' and you are much older.

The ammo I would fire off. No sense in letting good [practice] ammo sit around for too long. Recreational shooting/capability with a firearm, I imagine, is just as pertinent later on in life as it is now. The only real thing I would be concerned with, given this scenario, would be to whom do I...

    Pump or Semi for HD?

....while the semi-auto is more prone to weapon induced malfunction (to one degree or another). The biggest "operator error" I can think of, in terms of pump shotguns, is short stroking. This is easily overcome as it is not a problem based on inherent platform instabilities. Rather, it is...

Is it okay to store empty shotgun cocked?

Just curious, why do you have an issue with dropping the hammer on a snap cap and leaving it at that?

    Crazy sidesaddle mounting idea...

Find a quality butt stock mounted carrier. Simple and inexpensive. Grabbing ammo from the stock vs the receiver probably would not make much of a difference when the (deleted -- Sam) hits the fan. If mere seconds count, you are probably out of time anyway and hence, all the spares in the...
