Noticed a drunk CCW'ing- what to do

Leave it alone! It is, in fact, perfectly legal to be in a bar while CCW in Oregon. I say unless and until he presents a real and present threat to someone(s) that you MYOB, but keep an eye on him, just in case.

    Gun Buy Back Poaching

Even if buying the firearms from those in line is "frowned upon" couldn't you just show up and keep an eye out for the real desirable pieces, especially the little ol' ladies with the late husband's old war bring-backs, and let them know they could get 3 or 4 times what the buy-back is offering...

Fantasy Gun Purchase. What would you buy?

I've always wanted a full-auto Thompson SMG ... stick magazines, no drums, and no vertical foregrip :barf:.

    CCW in sensitive areas?

It is legal to carry in a school here in Oregon, and to my knowledge, that has caused a grand total of ZERO CCWers to lose control and start shooting children. Now, children who are too young to legally carry somehow manage to get guns into the schools and shoot other children, which is strange...

    Price Check: Russian Mosin M44

I bought my 91/30 for $69.95 last fall before the election (not a panic buy though). Since then I've seen a slight increase in prices around my area. I haven't seen a 91/30 under $99 and M44s average $120 or so.

What the heck happened to 7.62x54r prices?!

You can add me to this list. I needed a cheap and reliable rifle on a tight budget. I buy a hundred rounds a month from ammoman to stock up as best I can. I'm behind the curve. So to all those who bemoan the price increase from times gone by, allow me to say "sorry" on behalf of all of the...

    Why does concealment fail?

Before I started to carry (but while I was in the process of learning about carrying) I was at a UPS store (shipping a gun cooincidentally). An older gentleman was in front of me in line at the counter. He looked to be about 5'10" and 250 lbs. He was leaning on a cane in his left hand and was...

    Kel-Tec PF-9 vs. Kahr PM9

My PF-9 eats them like a champ! Not a single hiccup on the few mags of 147 grn. Hydra Shocks I've run. Though I have heard they suffer from a loss of velocity from the short barrel and don't expand reliably. That's all anecdotal, though. And I'd also like to join the crowd saying :cuss...

What Training Courses will you or do you want to take in 2009?

I plan on joining Obama's Civilian National Security Force... :uhoh: But seriously: -NRA Personal Defense in the Home -Appleseed Anybody know of any other defensive pistol courses in the PNW?

So where do you guys buy your ammo?

Ammountiontogo.com Depends on the buckshot you're looking for, but they have reduced recoil 00 buck for $20 for 25rnds, and #4 buck 50 rnd. for $30. I guess that's still close to what you've seen, but it looks like a good deal to me.

What Three Guns for a Low Budget

Interesting qustion. I just did exactly this. I started in September and now own three guns exactly, on a very limited budget I might add. I have: 1) A Kel-Tec PF-9: Not fancy, nor target-shooting material, but inexpensive. This adaquately fills the carry role. 2) A Mosin-Nagant 91/30. You...

    Roommate Robbed at School!

This is not true in all cases. It depends on where you live. In Oregon it is perfectly legal. Don't get caught doing it, because they may not like that much, but the law does allow it. Just sayin'

Recommend a gun shop in Portland, OR that cater to females?

Another vote here for the Gun Broker. I primarily patronize the one in Clackamas on 82nd Dr. They are very helpful and respectful. I was in there with my wife once while shopping for my CCW. She has no real experience or interest in firearms. She happened to comment on a (IIRC) Walther PPK (said...

CCW shooting test mandatory (as a poll)

I voted other, though I guess I could also say no. The only reason I didn't is because in a perfect world, one in which 2A was respected and understood for what it is, there would be no CCW permit system in the first place, therefor no shooting test.
