Finally got it worked out. I was able to meet the two most important component criterias. Those being Trailboss and 158 lswc. (Got a lot of those components.) Did have to substitute .38 Special cases. (I've got way more .357 brass.)
End result is dead on windage and about 1" high at 25...
I've got a SP101 with 3" barrel that shoots on at 25 yards with Federal .38 158gr LRN factory ammo. I'd like to duplicate that load to save money but with .357 cases because I have a ton of them.
The Federal .38 factory load averages about 680 fps out of my 3" barrel. My reload is .357 cases...
I have fired the P32, P3AT, and the P11. To summarize my thoughts with comparisons made relative to the P3AT:
P11
Advantage: 9mm round, higher mag capacity
Disadvantage: A little large for a pocket gun. P3AT is a good bit smaller.
P3AT
Advantage: Super concealable, The most powerful of...
I currently have a 3" and have owned a 2" in the past. I prefer the 3". It has a better feel to it for me and the tiny bit of extra length doesn't seem to make it less concealable for me.
I posted the following a long time ago. It isn't much of a story. However, it was the best outcome possible. (No shots fired.) The story really doesn't do justice to the "aggression" the guy was displaying.
The original story:

I was metal detecting this morning and found a couple interesting things.
The first item was the left hammer from a percussion shotgun. It fell apart during cleaning because it was so rusty.
A couple feet from the hammer, I found the following:
It is a 2.5" grip broken from either a...
I used to be in the Texas State Guard. I enjoyed it. State Guards are real military organizations but generally aren't run or funded very well and aren't very "military" in actual function. The physical standards, etc. are very low. Having said that, I'm glad that I did it.
A very interesting case:

Police frequently collect bullets as evidence.
They collect them from...
I wouldn't go out and buy a .22 for defense, unless I had physical problems that prevented my using a large caliber. However, if a .22 was all I had, I wouldn't have a problem with carrying it.
I like to charge each chamber, follow up with a filler material like "cream of wheat" and then seat the ball. Being a little cautious, I then grease over each ball as well.
Having said that, a lot of people like to use the "wonder wad" type wads between the powder and ball.
Oldtimers often...
As Archie said, slower bullets will hit higher. It can have a pretty dramatic effect. I used to have an 8" barreled Dan Wesson that shot dead on with normal loads but shot about 8" high at 10 yards with low velocity wadcutters.
The problem is caused by the recoil impulse starting before the...
