    Best Self Defense 1911?

All of the recent Colts I've seen have been legit, but they aren't exactly the prettiest guns. In your budget, I'd look at Dan Wessons or if you don't mind deviating a bit from the classic 1911 design, the Smith & Wesson E-series guns.

I got a bad case of the 1911 itch

I like my Remington, but I'd recommend a Colt if you plan on it being an heirloom. Dan Wessons are also nice. I'm planning on fully changing out all of the internals on my Remington, if that gives you any indication of how I feel about it.

    C7A2 Clones?

Well, the parts have arrived. I'll get a chance to take it out tomorrow or Sunday. 20" PSA FN Upper on carbine stock lower. Spikes T2 buffer.

    .22/.17 HMR Suggestions

The CZs are really quite a lot of gun for the cost. I do like the Savage rifles a lot though.

Thinking about an AR but know nothing

The S&W M&P15 Sport is a popular entry-level AR15. I've handled a few of them, and there are some deficiencies but they're either easily correctable or extremely minor (no heat shield on their handguards, no forward-assist, no dust-cover). Palmetto State certainly is another option to go with...

    Silencerco Sparrow On Ruger 22/45

Buy more ammo. It's a lot of fun.

    SCAR 17S Range Impressions

I had a lot of fun with my buddy's SCAR17. Surprisingly soft shooter.

    C7A2 Clones?

So, the standard A2 rifle buffer weighs in at around 5 oz. Now, the T2 buffer that I'll be using weighs in around 4.3 ounces. If it were just an issue of matching weights, I'd just go with an H2 or H3 buffer, but the spring rates for the carbine receiver extensions are different. If it's well...

    C7A2 Clones?

The Canadians apparently use H3 buffers in their carbine receiver extensions on their 20 inch C7A2s. I'm going to start with a Spikes T2 Buffer and if it's showing signs of being over-gassed, I'll move to an H2 buffer. It'll also depend on what type of ammo you run. 5.56 NATO is a bit higher...

    C7A2 Clones?

Anyone have a C7A2 clone (20 inch AR15 with a collapsible stock)? I'm in the process of building one (I'm waiting on my upper to ship from Palmetto State), and I was just wondering if any members of the THR community use this sort of arrangement. My goal was to make a general purpose rifle...

    Happy with your LCR?

I really like my .357 LCR. I also bought it to run mostly .38 +Ps, but it's not *that* bad with .357 if you're a recoil junkie. The gun points naturally for me and although the grips are somewhat bulky, they do a great job of reducing felt recoil.

I'm purchasing my first .22 handgun. I'd like your input.

Ruger 22/45 is my vote. Same grip angle as your XD. Reliable, accurate, and available in a number of configurations.

    Ruger LCR range report

If I take my time, I can shoot my LCR as accurately as my Glock 17 at 15 yards. It's a remarkable little handgun. After a few hundred rounds, my trigger pull has slicked out to a very smooth 9 pounds.
