Why aren't you a cowboy action shooter?

Back ups are nice, but, on the other hand, in all the years I've been shooting this game, I've never had to swap out a handgun, and only swapped out a rifle and shotgun one time each. If you have a malfunction, it will be no problem at all to borrow or share someone elses gun(s) to finish the...

Why aren't you a cowboy action shooter?

Wow, I'm astounded how many replies there are that claim we are "clique-ish" and "unfriendly". I don't think I've ever seen that, and certainly never experienced it. Or this: :D

    Recomend a revolver?

Well, if we're talking CAS revolvers with BP cartridges, I can fill a whole page! :p I thought 't'were just BP revolvers, as in not nitro proofed. ;) :D

    Recomend a revolver?

I was doing a search for "High Standard Griswold & Gunnison" when I came across this old thread... 9 Ruger Old Armies 2 High Standard Griswold & Gunnison's 2 Pietta 1860's 2 Uberti Walkers 2 original 1849 Colts 1 ASM 1849 Colt pattern 1 Uberti 1873BP44 1 1st gen Colt SAA, circa 1876 (Ya didn't...

What's the holy grail of firearms?

All of you who mentioned the Gyrojet, here's your chance. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=66330122 Four days to go, opening bid $2500. Considering that there is an original box of 24 rounds of ammo that go with it, and collectors are paying $25 to $50 apiece for them, it's...

What's the holy grail of firearms?

Here ya go, a twofer with a registered M-3 and a Liberator for *only* $24,000. They have just been relisted, and there are still ten days left. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=66259482 I have two Liberators, and wrote up a short test report on one of them HERE.

Does a "No Weapon" policy mean no CCW?

"No Weapons" is pretty damn vague. We've all seen the cop shows where some yahoo runs from the law and bumps the fender of a cruiser in the process, then is charged with "Assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon", or somesuch. Does this make all cars/trucks deadly weapons? Of course not...

    .480 Ruger? What is it?

I still have the first 50 empty cases I fired through mine, they're headstamped ".475 Ruger". Marlin also chambers a lever rifle for it.

Lead Poisoning....this is not good news

Once it leaves the blood stream, lead never leaves the body, it migrates from the blood mostly to the long, heavy bones, but also ends up in smaller bones and finger/toe nails. A blood lead sample measures the amount of lead in the blood, not in the bones or nails, hence if a person ingested...

    S&W 625 question

I'll go for the obvious question; Why would you even want to shoot ACP's without moon clips or AR's? Moon clips are the fastest reload possible for a revolver.

Lead Poisoning....this is not good news

34-35 is elevated, but not critical. I worked at an ASARCO lead smelter for 23 years, and very, very seldom was my blood lead below 30. Chelation has proven to be a risky therapy with lead because lead has a very sharp granular molecular structure and does a lot of microscopic slicing and dicing...

Anyone else had trouble from "the other guys?"

There was a lot of friction between the new owners of Nicks United Forums and several of the members, but the only place I've ever been banned from is Glock Talk (Long story, ex-wife, smear campaign). I don't think Parabellum ever banned me from his forums after he took over, but it became such...

    lead poisoning

20mg/dl is an acceptable level. I worked at a lead smelter for 23 years and toward the end. our plant medical removal level was 40, and we were allowed to return to work out in the plant when it dropped to below 30. I think the OSHA removal level is 50. I knew a couple people there who could...

    diamondback 38spl accuracy opinions.

I have three Diamondbacks, one .22 and two .38's, all four inchers. All have great SA and DA triggers, and all are very accurate. These are three of my very favorites out of a collection of... well, a LOT.

    .500 Wyoming Express

I'd like a convertible Wyoming Express/.50AE. FA won't fit the new WE with a .50AE cylinder, but they will fit an existing .50AE with a WE cylinder. How come? No AE cylinders left?
