Mouse Guns : YOUR Definition, CCW, etc. ?

Anything smaller than a Glock 27 qualifies as a mouse gun for me. I bought a Ruger LCP II, recently, after surgery limited my carry options. I've been very impressed with accuracy and feel of this pistol. It has become my backup as I am back to carrying my 27 or 23 now.

    What 5 Guns only forever?

Ruger MK II 22 lr Glock 21 45acp CZ 452 Trainer Remington 700 in .308 Win Colt Lightweight Sporter AR Covers all the needs and most of the wants. I'm a lousy wing shot so, no shotgun. It would just be wasted ammo.

Anyone else have delays with NICS today?

Mt Shooter "My ccw has a nics number on it. No phone call is needed, they fill out some paper and I sign to verify the serials match and out the door I go. Isn't it that way everywhere? That was not meant to be a smart a$$ but I just assumed it was that way everywhere. Yes/no" In Alabama...

    Buying a 10mm Glock soon -- thoughts?

The Glock 20 is an excellent pistol. I carry a .45acp model 30 or 21 for ccw, but my 20 often gets the nod for camping, hiking, canoeing as it is a better caliber for mtn lion and black bear, should the need arise. Mine is very accurate with every ammo I've shot in it, and easier to carry than...

    Gunsmiths In Southeast Alabama area

Clio is not very far North of you. Try cliogunshop.com, they offer full line of gunsmithing. A friend of mine in the Florence area has had them do some work on a few of his rifles. He was happy with the work. Jay

    Looking for my first gun

Good advice, so far. I would avoid Taurus, though they aren't too bad. Out of the ones you listed, I like Glock and Sig the best. Very reliable and accurate. Get your hands on as many models as you can to see how they fit you and make your decision based on that. Jay

    Glock 26 or S&W M&P Compact

The Glock 26, definitely. I admit to being a Glock Guy, I own most of the currently produced models. My main problem with the Smith is their past history with polymer pistols. The M&P is by all accounts the one where they finally got it right, but hasn't been around long enough for me to buy...

    My Next Gun

I noticed an M1 Garand on your list. If your serious about one, the sooner you buy it the better off you will be, IMO. Prices seem to keep going up the last several years and I doubt that will change. If your a history buff as well as a gun enthusiast it would be tough to beat adding an M1 to...

NEED HELP INSTALLING SCHERER SUPER 2 MAG EXTENSIONS!

Another reccomendation to get rid of them, except maybe for use at the range. I used to have them on my G21 mags I used in IDPA comp, but never used them for defensive carry. In the .45 they will only add one, two in the 10mm. When you get a model 30 for concealed carry, I highly reccomend the...

right hand, left eye dominant, anybody else with this issue?

Just the opposite for me, left handed and right eye dominant. My older brother, who is left handed, tried to teach me to shoot and I couldn't hit the barn from inside the barn. Very strong dominance in my case, left eye was practically useless for shooting. Once a neighbor,a Marine Gunny...

Michigan Man Arrested for Open Carry

Definitely good news. Now, did they return his pistol? Be willing to bet they drag their heels as much as possible. Jay

    $200 Scope

That Nikon Monarch would be a steal for under two hundred. What power range are you looking at? Some of the Weaver scopes can be had in the under or around two hundred and have very good glass. www.theopticzone.com is a pretty good source, IMO. Jay

Help me decide between a shotgun or a pistol.

A good pump gun is always nice to have around. I agree with VegasOPM, get the shotgun and expand the collection a bit. Perfect for HD and a lot of fun with light game loads, and still pretty cheap to shoot. Jay

Advice for a first time handgun buyer

Jeff, If you have any indoor ranges close to you they probably have rental guns. The few indoor ranges around here(about 60 miles away) have had a pretty good selection of rental guns. Using the rental guns is how I selected my firtst semi-auto pistol. Must have shot every major type in...
